Here are some reminders of important league rules:
- A player must be registered with their district at least 24 hours prior to a league game.
- A player must be registered 7 days prior to taking part in any cup competition.
- S/he must play at least one league game before s/he can play in any cup game for that team.
- It is the responsibility of the home team to notify their opposition and Divisional Liaison if the field is not playable due to inclement weather.
- The referee is responsible for making the final decision as to the playability of the field otherwise the teams should attend at the field.
- Safety of the player is our #1 priority, so use common sense where fields are questionable (i.e. frozen, badly pot-holed, etc.).
- Snow: As snowfall can be sporadic, some fields may be covered while others are clear. It is the responsibility of the home team to notify their opposition and Divisional Liaison if the field is not playable because of snow.
Notice from Pete Skinner Chair of the BCCGSL (Girls’):
"I have received a couple of emails complaining of opponents refusing to play on all-weather fields. I think you all know that playing on sand/gravel fields is a fact of life on the wet coast when rain falls. Please remind all your BCCGSL teams that they cannot refuse to play on a sand/gravel field if that is all that is available. When a game is not played because a team refuses to play then the game is subject to forfeit and a fine may be levied on the District for this refusal."
